Phew Who is still tired!????

An amazing start to our season on a HOT, windy day on the Schuylkill River. Wind and the Schuylkill River are synonymous!!!

42 women’s teams…. Purple finished SECOND overall earning a Silver medal in the A final and Gold finished EIGHTH overall capturing a Gold in the B Major division, with a time beating out 5 of the 6 A minor teams!!! Your coaches could not be more proud!

Purple had incredible focus, amazing starts and no sag all the way down the river! Led by our newest Drummer, Amy, and our cool as a cucumber steer Lora, the Purple crew stayed tough through some tough wind and competition and had an incredible surge to the finish especially on the last race!! What a thing of beauty to watch!!

Gold boat worked out their kinks from the first race with nerves affecting our boat glide and trouble on the starts for the first two races. Judy kept us motivated and Julie Ann- what can we say? You are rockstar. Look at you gurl- steering her first race like a PRO!!! What a final race for Gold!!! We were on it for that super- fast start called by the official. It ALL came together and we had an incredible race which made us realize what leaving it all on the river feels like! Our final time beat BOTH crews of that “other” women’s team on the Schuylkill

The work to fine tune our stroke, starts and finishes goes on! Keep showing up to practice, pushing each other with each piece. We are truly ONE BOAT!
